This bottle vase was thrown on the wheel before being glazed in my denim blue glaze and fired in a gas reduction kiln.
The reduction of the gas kiln causes the iron present in the clay body to burn through the blue glaze in places, creating the impression of rust and corrosion.
The unglazed parts of the bottle shows the toasted orangey nature of the clay at its very best.
